The lecture "Sporting Russia" will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA on March 21
As part of the series of seven educational lectures "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA, the second lecture, "Sporting Russia," will be held on March 21 at 18:00. Its theme will be Russia's sports architecture as a reflection of human achievements and people's ideas about competition.
At the meeting, experts will discuss how each structure conveys the spirit of its era, from ancient arenas to modern stadiums. The lecture will tell how the architecture of sports facilities not only creates a background for competitions but also influences their atmosphere, inspires records, and becomes part of the country's cultural legacy. Participants will learn how the evolution of stadiums is connected with the history of Russian society and its passion for sports.
The moderator will be Yelena Likhacheva, an art critic and architectural historian. The speaker of the lecture is Mark Akopyan, a graduate of the Department of Art History at the Faculty of History of Lomonosov Moscow State University, an art historian, researcher of 20th-century architecture, and curator of the exposition "Architecture of Stadiums" at the Shchusev Museum of Architecture.
You can register for events at the National Centre RUSSIA and learn more about them on the website russia.ru.
The conversation began with an examination of how Europe gradually, step by step, moved towards another major conflict after the First World War.
The survey was conducted from 3 to 8 June. A total of 1,712 women from across Russia took part.
The National Centre RUSSIA will serve as the main venue for a major event in the field of education — the Forum of Geography Teachers and Students of Specialised Universities.
