The festive concert was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on February 23
On Defender of the Fatherland Day, February 23, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the concert "Time of Our Heroes." The festive event took place as part of the III International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes."
"Today, on February 23, we are celebrating here at the National Centre RUSSIA. The President has declared 2025 the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. For three days, the RT.Doc Documentary Film Festival was held at the National Centre. This is honest cinema, very profound. We had the opportunity to meet real heroes — volunteers, officers, war correspondents, and doctors. Congratulations to everyone on this holiday. A deep bow to our defenders," said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The III International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA from February 21 to 23. Guests watched over 70 films created by military documentary filmmakers from Russia, Italy, Cameroon, Palestine, Serbia, Slovakia, and other countries.
"Three days of full halls. We watched films, cried, and talked. There were many new acquaintances, and that is the most important thing about our festival because each viewer will take a piece of warmth and light from here and then share it with others. This is how the wave of love for documentary cinema, which we started three years ago, continues to grow to these scales. And, of course, we do all this for our fighters, who are celebrating today — one of the most important holidays in our country," emphasized Yekaterina Yakovleva, general producer of the "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" festival.
A highlight of the concert was the premiere of the song "Officer," written and performed by young musician Sergei Pavlovsky. Its main theme is a phrase from the Russian Officer’s Code of Honor: "Soul — to God. Heart — to a woman. Life — to the Fatherland. Honor — to no one."
The concert program, dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and the closing of the "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" festival, also featured performances by renowned artists, including singer Pelageya, the National Ballet Kostroma, and the front-line band Zveroboy.
"For 10 years of traveling to Donbass, we have met an incredible number of remarkable, true men. We have seen first-wave militia fighters, volunteers, and, of course, mobilized soldiers after the start of the special military operation. Dear men, we congratulate all of you and thank you for your military service and heroism. We wish you strong health and, God willing, a swift victory," said the musicians of the band Zveroboy.
The culmination of the program was a joint performance by Igor Vasilyevich Timashev, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and Sergei Borzov, a participant in the Special Military Operation. Together with the Viktor Popov Grand Children's Choir, they performed the legendary military-patriotic song "From the Heroes of the Past." The heartfelt performance united generations of defenders of the Fatherland and became a symbol of nationwide respect for their feats.
