The best tour guides were awarded at the National Centre RUSSIA
As part of International Tourist Guide Day, the tour guides of the National Centre RUSSIA were awarded. The event highlighted guides who conducted the highest number of tours.
Every day, dozens of tours take place at the National Centre. In January 2025 alone, more than 1,500 tours were conducted. The most tours were led by Alexander Gaineyev, Svetlana Sorokina, Yelena Usova, Vera Birskaya, Marianna Sizova, Olga Dodonova, and Yevgeny Artemenkov. The Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Natalia Virtuzova, presented them with letters of appreciation.
The Moscow Tourism Committee also recognized the best tour guides. Letters of appreciation for active participation in events organized by the Moscow Tourism Committee, professionalism, and contributions to the development of the city's tourism sector were awarded to Yekaterina Klygina, Irina Alexeyeva, and Bulat Khamitov.
"Moscow is becoming increasingly attractive to tourists, with more visitors coming each year. In just the first nine months of 2024, 19.7 million people visited Moscow — a new record surpassing the results of 2023. This achievement was made possible thanks to our joint efforts. A tour guide is a guide to impressions and emotions for our tourists. You are the ones who showcase the unique atmosphere of our capital, allowing visitors to see Moscow through your eyes. We thank you for your dedication and love for the city and wish you success, inspiration, and new bright experiences," noted Inessa Grig, Head of the Tourism Department of the Moscow Tourism Committee.
The Association of Tour Guides, Interpreters, and Tour Managers also presented letters of gratitude to the best tour guides, as chosen by visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA — Maria Sorokina, Yanis Jakobsons, and Dmitry Tyrkov.
"The National Centre already has its own traditions, heroes, and records, which is wonderful. Tour guides play a key role in this process. Our association has a professional award category called 'Guiding Star.' I would like to wish each of you to become such a guiding star for your guests," stated Yelena Tikhonova, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Guides, Interpreters, and Tour Managers.
Starting March 1, 2025, two new expositions — "Journey Across Russia" and "The Birth of Scale" — will open at the National Centre RUSSIA. Free guided tours of the expositions will be organized for visitors.
