Participants of the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" will discuss how the Global South will impact the creation of a just future. The meeting will take place during the panel discussion titled "Global South."


International participants of the Symposium, representing China, Bulgaria, Latin America, and other states, will share their insights on how cooperation between the Global South and the Global North is viewed in their countries.


Experts will address the development of the Global South and its position in global innovation processes, discussing strategies to counter challenges and strengthen its position on the world stage.


Invitees to the panel discussion include Alexander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Konstantin Kurylyov, Head of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University); Mikhail Margelov, Head of the UNESCO Department "Oriental and African Studies: Contemporary Research and Teaching Methods" at the Institute of Asian and African Studies, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vice President of the Russian International Affairs Council; science fiction writer Kirill Benediktov; and others.


Among the foreign guests of the event are Boyan Chukov (Bulgaria), a consultant for the "East-West" publishing house and leading expert on Russia-EU relations; Xiе Yiping (China), a professor at the Yan'an University History Faculty; Kassaye Nigusie W. Michael (Ethiopia), President of the International Public Organization for the Promotion of Integration and Development of Cultural and Business Cooperation "Friendship Society of the Peoples of Russia and Ethiopia"; Medina Gonzalez Vinicio Xavier (Ecuador), a delegate of the National Electoral Council of Ecuador; Esteban Luis Perié (Argentina), President of the Centre for Integration and Cooperation between Russia and Latin America; and Kıvanç Ulusoy (Turkey), a professor in the Department of Public Administration and Political Science at Istanbul University. 


The meeting will be conducted by Vitaly Danilov, Director of the Centre for Applied Analysis of International Transformations at RUDN University and Candidate of Historical Sciences.


On July 1, 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the National Centre RUSSIA to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and showcase the country's achievements on a permanent basis.


From November 4 to 6, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The participants will include scientists and researchers, futurologists and forecasters, science fiction writers, and representatives of the authorities.


The Symposium will become a unique international platform for open dialog, where the scenarios of human development and global challenges of our time will be discussed. The program includes more than 60 events in four areas: the future of human, the future of technology, the future of the multipolar world, and the future of civilizations.


The event will be attended by scientists, futurists, government and business representatives from 100 countries, including Austria, Argentina, India, China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others.


The Symposium program is published on the website future.russia.ru. Broadcasts of the events will also be available there during the days of the Symposium. 


As part of the opening of the Symposium, an exposition will be launched that will support the idea of a human-centric dialogue about the future of the world. The exposition will allow each visitor to realize the importance of personal contribution to the future.
