A strategic session titled "Infrastructure for Life – Synchronizing Government and Business" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA as part of the III National Award for contribution to the development of digitalization of urban economy "Smart City."

Participants discussed the application of smart city technologies in the implementation of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," the creation of a comfortable and safe environment, issues of interdepartmental and intersectoral synchronization, as well as practices for cooperation between the state and businesses.

Special attention was given to the smart city as a trend for interdepartmental cooperation in the development of regional development programmes. The session was moderated by Anatoly Kurmanov, Chairman of the Expert Council of the Smart City Competence Centre.

Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Anton Gerasimov spoke about the area of activity "Safe Environment."

"This includes a project focused on the safety of the population in the territory of the Russian Federation. It is a centralized information collection system, 112. I believe this is an excellent project that has been successful and has brought real benefits to our citizens. Seven constituent entities of the Russian Federation have already made progress in implementation, and we are completing this phase. This year, the second phase will be carried out in the remaining regions," said Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Anton Gerasimov.

Olga Mineyeva, Director for Government Relations at PJSC "Astra Group," noted that an essential step towards building a smart city is the creation of smart infrastructure.

"It is very important, at the design stage of any element of a smart city – whether it's a kindergarten, school, residential building or university – to start with the standard. It establishes the basic requirements for the functionality of services, solutions, and equipment. The standard and the regulation of interaction are the foundation. Such typical approaches can be applied and scaled to any sector or facility," said Olga Mineyeva.

Alexei Alekseyev, Deputy General Director of JSC "Iskra Technologies," emphasized that the National Award for contribution to the development of digitalization of urban economy "Smart City" raises the bar every year and brings together an increasing number of interested companies and institutions.

The "Smart City" National Award has become a platform for dialogue and the exchange of experience among participants seeking to improve life in Russian cities through new technologies and innovative solutions. This year, it involves around 1,000 participants, including government officials, experts, and business representatives.

The "Smart City" National Award is organized by the Smart City Competence Centre with the support of key government bodies such as the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Transport of Russia, as well as the State Duma. This support highlights the significance of the event and its contribution to the development of the urban environment.
