The forum "Eurasia — Territory of Traditional Values" has opened at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 10 April, the Public and Business Forum "Eurasia — Territory of Traditional Values" began its work at the National Centre RUSSIA. The opening ceremony featured performances by People’s Artist of Russia Larisa Dolina and the National Ballet "Vozrozhdenie" ("Revival").
The forum brings together representatives of Eurasian states, public and cultural figures, experts and politicians. Its goal is to shape a new Eurasian idea and shared mentality based on the principles of humanism, traditional values, and equitable cooperation.
The forum includes panel discussions, debates, and expert sessions devoted to the preservation of cultural identity, strengthening of shared values, and the creation of a unified Eurasian cultural space.
The forum opened with a plenary session titled "Unity of the Eurasian Educational Space." The session was moderated by Russian journalist and TV presenter, member of the Russian Television Academy, Ernest Matskyavichyus. Participants included Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Chernyshov, Chair of the Council of the ANO "Eurasia" and State Duma Deputy Alyona Arshinova, Director General of Russia’s TASS news agency Andrei Kondrashov, Serbian film director, actor and musician Emir Kusturica, and Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Gigin.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev took part in the forum’s opening ceremony. He emphasized that Eurasia cannot become unified like other continents, because Europe stands in the way.
"In my view, for a long time, and still today, united Europe has been hindering Eurasia — united not geographically, but politically — and in doing so has divided Eurasia with an insurmountable wall. Today, this wall runs along the eastern border of NATO and the European Union. Europe should have been moving eastward, toward Asia, but instead, it has moved westward, across the Atlantic," he stated.
Konstantin Kosachev noted that Eurasia is at the epicenter of current global developments and that this stage of human history will ultimately lead to unity.
The forum welcomed Serbian film director and public figure Emir Kusturica as a guest. In his speech, he stressed that culture cannot be cancelled.
"History has not ended. History will never end. Russian literary classics, music, and spiritual tradition — these are forces that cannot be destroyed. I feel that I am a citizen of the Eurasian continent. That is my logic and my conviction," the director emphasized.
He also noted that the destruction of traditional values in the West began back during the Cold War and was connected to the rejection of Enlightenment ideals, while Russia and the countries of Eurasia continue to preserve deep cultural foundations, united by shared history and spiritual landmarks.
The Public and Business Forum "Eurasia — Territory of Traditional Values" will last for two days. Ahead is a rich programme involving representatives from various countries and international organizations committed to strengthening humanitarian ties and building a multipolar world.
