Eduard Artemyev’s birthday will be celebrated with a grand concert at the National Centre RUSSIA
On November
30 at 17:00, the National Centre RUSSIA will host a concert in honor of the
birthday of the legendary Soviet and Russian composer Eduard Artemyev. The
event will feature his granddaughter, Yekaterina Artemyeva, lead soloist of the
Gradsky Hall theatre Andrei Lefler, Nikita Shutov (trumpet solo), as well as
the Sound Puzzle Chorus and the Moscow ensemble OpensoundOrchestra.
The
prologue to Artemyev's melodies at the concert will include new works by young
composers, whose art was inspired by Eduard Nikolaevich's masterpieces. Their
music will be enhanced by modern technologies and generative design: the
engineering team has prepared a visual accompaniment based on algorithms and
neural network technologies.
As part of
the main program, the audience will hear Eduard Artemyev's soundtracks for
films by Andrei Tarkovsky, Nikita Mikhalkov, and Andrei Konchalovsky. The
concert will also include works by contemporary composers from popular Russian
films.
The
performance will be accompanied by visuals compiled from the films "At
Home Among Strangers, a Stranger Among His Own," "Slave of
Love," and " Family Relations."
The
National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian
Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA
EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a
permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations,
and regions take part in the Centre’s work.
