Vice-rectors of universities discussed key vectors and tasks for the new academic year at the National Centre RUSSIA
A two-day
working meeting with university vice-rectors for youth policy and educational
activities "Key Vectors and Tasks for the 2025–2026 Academic Year"
was held at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The
Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation organised
such a meeting for the second time on the eve of the new academic year. The
National Centre RUSSIA hosted it for the first time. This year the meeting was
dedicated to updating tasks in the field of youth policy and educational activities
in universities for the new academic year in the context of the implementation
of Presidential Decree of the Russian Federation No. 309 "On the national
development goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and for
the future up to 2036".
Olga
Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian
Federation, delivered a welcoming address. She outlined the role of
universities in the context of the implementation of this document.
"We
are jointly creating conditions for self-fulfilment, nurturing citizens with an
active civic position and a stable worldview. When graduates leave university,
they choose a certain development path. And within their chosen professional
trajectory, they must be ready to address the tasks set by the President. These
are our national goals — the development of each person’s potential and
talents, and the upbringing of a patriotic and socially responsible
personality. Together with universities, in our work we deal with each of these
areas," said Olga Petrova.
Presidential
Decree of the Russian Federation No. 309 "On the national development
goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and for the future up
to 2036" sets the following goals: preservation of the population, health
and support for families; realisation of each person’s potential; a comfortable
and safe living environment; environmental well-being; a sustainable and
dynamic economy; technological leadership; and digital transformation.
The meeting
also featured presentations of new federal initiatives and set out the priority
tasks of youth policy for the coming academic year.
More than
600 vice-rectors and deputy directors of university branches responsible for
the implementation of youth policy and educational activities took part in the
event.
