Tank City Day was held at the National Centre RUSSIA
The National Centre RUSSIA hosted Tank City Day, an event that opened the Week of the Chelyabinsk Region at the exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future." The guests of the National Centre got acquainted with the history of South Ural residents' labor feat and took part in a series of creative master classes.
Heroes of Tankograd Day ("Tankograd" means the city of tanks in Russian) was established by the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region, and is celebrated annually on 6 October in memory of the home front workers of the Great Patriotic War. In those years, Chelyabinsk was named Tankograd, as every fifth tank that fought at the front was produced here. Today, this day unites the memory of the people who worked in factories and built the Victory.
As part of the events at the National Centre, visitors, together with master Alexandra Kaptel, created postcards using the three-dimensional modeling technique. Then they decorated the postcards with St. George's ribbon, tanks and white doves. Later, a master class was held on making badges shaped as the legendary T-34 tank, produced at the Chelyabinsk Kirov Plant.
In addition, a new stencil appeared on the digital graffiti of the stand. It depicts tanks rolling off the assembly line, and is inspired by real military photography.
The Days of the Chelyabinsk Region are held at the National Centre RUSSIA from 7 to 12 October. As part of the thematic week, the space will host concerts, workshops, cooking shows, as well as a meeting with Governor Alexei Texler.
