The National Centre RUSSIA hosted panel discussions dedicated to Russian Science Day
On February
7, on the eve of Russian Science Day, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted panel
discussions focused on the interaction between scientists and businesses,
scientific personnel policy, and other topics. The events were organized by ANO
"National Priorities" with the support of the National Centre RUSSIA.
"Science
plays a key role in shaping the country's technological sovereignty. This is
one of the state's priority tasks assigned to the scientific community within
the Decade of Science and Technology announced by the President. We want to
highlight the applied nature of science and its close connection with the real
sector of the economy, as well as present large business companies as qualified
customers for scientific developments. In order to propose innovative ideas,
science needs young researchers. I hope that the speeches by experts from the
scientific community and business representatives will inspire young
researchers to choose science and build a career in research," noted
Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Denis
Sekirinsky.
Participants
of the discussion "Science and Business: Point of Contact," including
representatives from the Skolkovo Foundation, Gazprom Neft, the Russian Academy
of Sciences, and Sechenov University, discussed the interaction between science
and business, the commercialization of projects, and the level of scientific
expertise in the country. The discussion also covered which technologies are in
demand at modern enterprises, how to establish a dialogue with scientists, and
the stages new technologies go through from scientific idea to implementation.
As part of
the discussion "Scientific Personnel Policy: Challenges and
Solutions," participants examined the impact of science on societal
development, the directions of scientific progress, prospects for innovation,
and ways to improve quality of life. Experts paid significant attention to the
training of qualified specialists and the promotion of the image of the modern
Russian scientist.
"Many
fields of science are actively developing in Russia, from medicine to physics,
from ecology to information technology. Support for scientific initiatives and
the development of research centres enable our scientists to compete on a
global level. Russian Science Day is another opportunity to express gratitude
to those who work daily to address humanity’s global challenges. During the
Decade of Science and Technology, it is important to highlight the research and
achievements of Russian scientists, as this helps shape the image of modern
science," said Sofia Malyavina, Director General of ANO "National
Priorities."
The program of themed events at National Centre RUSSIA also included an interview with Sber’s Science Award laureate Alexander Kvashnin for the podcast "Scientifically, Popularly!" and the announcement of the results of the photo contest "Scientists and Engineers – Creators of a New World Order," organized by the Decade of Science and Technology portal nauka.rf.
Science Day
