The closing ceremony of the "Region-2030. Platform of the Future" exposition took place at the National Centre RUSSIA. The Amur, Voronezh, Tula, and Chelyabinsk regions, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Republic of Dagestan, and the Nenets Autonomous Area presented their achievements and development plans.

The "Region-2030. Platform of the Future" exposition ran at the National Centre RUSSIA from 1 September to 23 October. Over 50,000 people visited it, including representatives of government, business, science, and youth communities, as well as guests from across Russia and other countries.

Regional Days were held as part of the exposition. Each week, one of Russia’s regions presented its cultural, business, and educational programme. The agenda featured meetings with regional governors, presentations, lectures, prize draws, masterclasses, gastronomic shows with tastings, performances, and other events.

A special section of the exposition was "Made in Russia", organised by the Russian Export Centre. Thirty Russian companies showcased their developments. Visitors could learn how Russia is expanding exports in key industries: in engineering and shipbuilding — from charging stations and UAVs to 5D printers; in IT — digital solutions for safety and automation; in healthcare — bioprostheses, ventilators, and rehabilitation systems; in robotics and education — VR technologies, digital twins, and training robots; in the creative industries — contemporary art pieces combining tradition and innovation.

"I caught myself feeling the same emotions as when the RUSSIA EXPO ended," said Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Natalia Virtuozova. "Then, too, we gathered with the regions and our team — we rejoiced at all we had achieved and felt sad at the same time. It is always hard to say goodbye, especially to such wonderful people. Thank you and my deep gratitude for being the first — true pioneers who gave a part of yourselves every day — your hearts, your work, and your love for the Motherland."

The closing ceremony was held near the main display — the model of the 2-3-2V steam locomotive, a legendary symbol of engineering power and progress. The fastest and most powerful locomotive of its time, it could reach speeds of up to 175 km/h. Created in 1938 at the Lugansk (Voroshilovgrad) plant, it became a milestone in Soviet mechanical engineering. Although its story was interrupted by the Great Patriotic War, the memory of that era’s creative energy and engineering courage lives on.

"Are such expositions needed? Of course they are. Our visitors said it again and again — everyone wants to discover Russia, to get to know it, and when they do, they are amazed by how diverse it is," shared representative of the Amur region’s stand Valentina Kobzar.

Before leaving, guests left written wishes on the locomotive’s body. By evening, its side was covered with messages from regional representatives, visitors, participants of the "Young Tour Guides School" project, and staff of the National Centre RUSSIA.

"It is impossible to express all the emotions we feel when we tell people about our country. We feel pride — and people sense it. They understand how unique our country is. And of course, we feel joy, excitement, and awe — for ourselves, for our country, and for our great, immense exposition," said participant of the "Young Tour Guides School of Russia" project, Yefrosinya Sirota.

The National Centre RUSSIA will continue to present the diversity of the country through the achievements of its regions. From December 2025 to February 2026, a new exposition "New Year Russia. The Book of Fairy Tales" will open, featuring the Ryazan region, the Republics of Karelia and Mordovia, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, the Stavropol region, and other regions.

The exposition space will be divided into thematic zones based on fairy-tale motifs that reflect the traits of the Russian character — warmth, courage, kindness, and ingenuity. The symbol of the New Year exposition will be the Firebird’s feather — a symbol of light, hope, and the fulfilment of wishes. The regions will present their festive traditions, legends, and folklore, and share their history, achievements, and future plans.
