The uniting role of Eurasian media partnership was discussed at the National Centre RUSSIA
The International Public and Business Forum "Eurasia — Territory of Traditional Values" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 10. It was dedicated to the anniversary of the founding of the ANO "Eurasia" and aimed at the development of international cooperation.
The topic of the European information field and international dialogue on the Internet was discussed during the expert session "New Meanings for the Development of Eurasian Media Partnership," moderated by Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of RT and the Russia Today media group. She noted that ANO "Eurasia" contributes to the development of international cooperation and implements humanitarian projects focused on interethnic communication and the friendship of peoples.
"Eurasia is uniting people again. This organization has achieved tremendous success in a very short time. The structure is focused on bringing us together. It’s about uniting everything that has been trying to divide us for many, many years. You can see the incredible humanitarian projects that 'Eurasia' creates in so many different fields. So many people have come to Russia for internships, to share experiences, whether they are doctors or just young people. So many have had the opportunity to relearn or strengthen their Russian language skills," emphasized Margarita Simonyan.
The hosting side of the forum also shared its experience in creating platforms for international dialogue. Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, discussed how such platforms today create, highlight, and broadcast the meanings of traditional values, using the RUSSIA EXPO and the National Centre RUSSIA itself as an example.
"The National Centre was created by the President's Decree as the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO, which ran for eight months and during that time became one of the top ten most visited places in the world, despite being open for less than a year. More than 18.5 million people visited us. People came from all over the country and from all over the world. I would like to thank our partner, Russia Today, who helped spread the word about the exposition worldwide. We had visitors from Arabic newsrooms, Italian media, and foreign partners. And they all said almost the same thing: why do we know so little about Russia? We really need such exposition formats, where we can learn about the country not through headlines, but by seeing it with our own eyes," shared Anastasia Zvyagina.
Each visit by foreign guests is an opportunity to talk about Russia through living history, emotions, and personal impressions, emphasized Anastasia Zvyagina. She noted that media today is an integral part of the work in creating and promoting large-scale projects. Cooperation with popular bloggers and federal media outlets helps highlight the work of the National Centre RUSSIA and invite foreign journalists, including from major media outlets, to Moscow.
In the international information field, the transmission of traditional values also takes place through art — cinema and music, noted Alexei Goreslavskiy, Director General of the ANO "National Institute for the Internet Development," during the expert session. According to him, today countries are creating joint content for viewers all over the world. For example, Russian cartoons are in high demand abroad, and they also broadcast the cultural code of our country.
"There is quite a bit of Russian content. It can and should be created jointly with different countries. However, there is very little content that has been adapted for showing in other countries. The situation with content distribution, which is detached from international systems (YouTube and other American platforms), is also rather poor," said Alexei Goreslavskiy.
The Public and Business Forum "Eurasia — Territory of Traditional Values" will last for two days. Ahead is a packed program featuring representatives from different countries and international organizations interested in strengthening humanitarian ties and building a multipolar world.
