The final of the 15th All-Russian Computer All-Around Championship among Pensioners was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 21. The final of the 15th All-Russian Computer All-Around Championship among Pensioners was held at the Russia National Center. The event was attended by 206 winners of regional stages from 76 subjects of the Russian Federation, including new regions. Compatriots from 12 countries of  several continents took part in the face-to-face and distant formats. A special role in the Championship is assigned to new participants — 35 veterans of military operations and the Special Military Operation.

The organizers of the event are the All — Russian Public organization "Union of Pensioners of Russia" and the Russian State University of Social Technologies (RSU Sotstech). The final was held with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the United Russia Political Party, and the National Centre RUSSIA. The partner of the event was the "InfoWatch" Group of Companies, a leading developer of information security solutions, and the "Odnoklassniki" social network.

The Championship, which celebrates its anniversary this year, is a unique event that unites four generations of Russians in an unusual field — computer literacy contests. The oldest participant is 77 years old. The youngest is 22.

Valery Ryazansky, Chairman of the Union of Pensioners of Russia: "Our participants are united by the main quality – they can learn, they know how to learn, they love to learn. It is this quality that helps them to overcome themselves. Healthy long-term life, which is a priority of our National Projects, is based on the "three pillars": the intellect, the rich physical activity, and plenty of  interesting thing to occupy oneselves with. Our participants, our finalists — are an example of the overcoming. A worthy example."

Fifteen years ago, the championship began with the problem of low computer literacy among the general population — the unwillingness of Russians to receive governmental services in digital format. While young people quickly got their bearings in the new reality, a broad social group, which makes up almost a third of the Russian population, remained aloof from computer technology. The problem had no systemic solution, as it was traditionally believed that older people did not need educational institutions, organizations, and services. The educational program was taken over by public organizations under the auspices of the Union of Pensioners of Russia and its wide regional network. Graduates of computer literacy programs have formed a social environment, and the Computer Literacy Championship is a thing that helps "graduates" to feel in good shape.

Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council's Committee on Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities: "Any head of the region is interested in having such allies as pensioners — this has a positive and beneficial effect on the development of society. We have given people a chance. Pensioners previously were excluded from digitalization, which has been actively underway in our country, we have connected them to this process, and now they are actively participating in it."

The Union of Pensioners of Russia, which has more than 1.5 million members in 2025, has been active for 30 years in supporting the involvement of older people in social processes. This includes improving digital literacy through specially designed and implemented educational programs.

Vyacheslav Timchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities, member of the General Council of the United Russia political party: "The participants of the final are already winners, because they have passed a complex multi-level selection system. There are 206 out of ten thousand participants in the final, and "the whole country" is rooting for them now."

The variety of final tasks allows you to test a wide range of skills and abilities that participants must demonstrate in a short time. The tasks for the final tests were written by students of the Russian State University of Social Technology, and are designed to test practical skills required for work in the digital world. For example, one of the tests is entirely devoted to health.

Oleg Salagai, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation: "Participation in the championship is not only a contest, but also an important step towards feeling confident in the modern world, staying in touch with loved ones, receiving online governmental services, and even finding new hobbies."

The championship is held in a hybrid format: there, 123 people are competing in person, and 83 are online. The format allows a larger number of finalists to participate despite geographical restrictions, considering that representatives of 12 countries living on different continents reached the final. Honesty and equality of opportunity are ensured both by the clear organization of the process, and by the work of volunteers and proctors who watch the final tests from the first moments of the event. Volunteers of different ages ensure the reliability of all processes both at the site of the NC RUSSIA, and at the "places" where remote participants are.

Tatiana Ageycheva, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy at the Russian State University of Social Technology, addressed the finalists: "You show to the whole older generation, to our compatriots, your love of life, thereby helping us, a unique in a way university, to replicate this practice. And our students are actively involved in this project, they are volunteers and proctors, they help the Championship, they study with you and adopt traditions."

The current Championship brought together participants from all over Russia: 1,200 municipalities from Magadan to Lugansk and from Salekhard to Makhachkala. Compatriots from different countries — from Great Britain to Australia, from Finland to Tunisia - the whole world is together with Russia. The social significance of the Championship is reflected in the biographies of the finalists themselves: 43% of them are working pensioners, one in four is a resident of rural areas, and one in five has celebrated the 70th birthday.

Spouses Mikhail and Lyudmila Mirny, finalists from Lugansk, the Lugansk People's Republic: "We have not been to Moscow for 40 years, and we are so glad that, having passed through a tough selection, we reached the final together. Now we can safely get to the capital by a bus going a direct route, in fourteen hours, without unnecessary difficulties. We now know how to get all the public services online, and participation in the Championship is a good reason for us not to stop developing ourselves. Happiness is a man-made thing, and everything depends only on us. Together, we can do it!"

Almost all participants in the final are active computer users, and more than 70% of them use social networks on a daily basis. It is not surprising that the official social network of the Championship is Odnoklassniki, and thanks to the live broadcast organized on its base, thousands of participants of the regional stages will join the final. The "InfoWatch" Group of Companies, a Russian developer of data protection systems, is responsible for the security of the Championship.

The mechanics of refereeing at the Championship are improved annually, and combine human compassion with the impartiality of digital assessment. The proctors monitor compliance with the regulations, there is a penalty point system for violating the rules, and a computer system calculates test results. Each answer has its own digital weight.

Yulia Romanova, the chief referee of the Championship: "This is the smoothest Championship, which managed to go without technical failures and violations of the rules on the part of the finalists. It is a wonderful anniversary event. We finally see people in person again, it's the drive, it's the emotions, it's what makes us human — it's the live communication of people on the same positive wave."
