The first show of the series "Journey Across Russia's Gastronomic Festivals" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA
In the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA, the first event of the series "Journey Across Russia's Gastronomic Festivals" was held. Guests were introduced to the VIII Restaurant Festival of Russian Cuisine "Cuisine of the Ryazan Region."
"Every year, the number of gastronomic festivals in the regions of Russia increases, with more than 100 large federal and regional festivals held annually, and even more urban, seasonal, farmer, ethnic, and national ones! The team of the National Centre RUSSIA set itself the task of gathering the brightest national cuisine festivals of the regions at the venue of the Gastronomic Rows. The journey through the country's gastronomic festivals began last Saturday with the annual restaurant festival of Russian cuisine 'Cuisine of the Ryazan Region.' We remind you: the festival will be held in Ryazan for the 8th time from May 1 to 31," said Yekaterina Shapovalova, the author and curator of the project "Gastronomic Map of Russia."
The best chefs of the Association of Cooks of the Ryazan Region shared the history of the festival and conducted workshops on preparing touristic gastronomic business cards of the region. Visitors could try braised duck, duck leg with pepper sauce and celery puree, buckwheat porridge with forest mushrooms and beef shank, the dessert "Bylinny Solotchinsky Stone" with strawberry jam, and other dishes.
"Our President Vladimir Putin made the decision to create the National Centre RUSSIA, which preserves the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and continues to showcase the country's main achievements and future projects. Today, we are in one of the most delicious parts of our Centre — the gastronomic zone 'Journey Across Russia. Food.' We decided to start this series of presentations with the Ryazan region — a region with a rich history and amazing culinary culture. I highly recommend visiting the festival or the restaurants in the region — it's a true gastronomic discovery," noted Irina Tesleva, Head of the Department for Regional Interaction of the National Centre RUSSIA.
She emphasized that the cuisine of the Ryazan region is not only gastronomic art but also part of a rich history of a region that has always played an important role in the defense and development of Russia. Irina Danilova, President of the Association of Cooks of the Ryazan Region, discussed the development path of the festival.
"Eight years ago, we held the 'Cuisine of the Ryazan Region' festival for the first time. We were united by Viktor Borisovich Belyaev, President of the National Association of Cooks of Russia, who taught us to search for unique recipes within our native region and to work together, supporting rather than competing with each other. Since then, the festival has become an important project for popularizing local cuisine and developing gastronomic tourism," said Irina Danilova.
As part of the VIII Restaurant Festival of Russian Cuisine "Cuisine of the Ryazan Region," traditionally held in May across 20 leading restaurants in Ryazan, each participant will present dishes from one of the districts of the region. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Ryazan Region, the Tourism Development Agency of the Ryazan Region, and the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia."
The first presentation of the series "Journey Across Russia's Gastronomic Festivals" became a vivid start for getting acquainted with the culinary wealth of the country's regions. The National Centre RUSSIA invites everyone to continue this journey and discover new gastronomic traditions of Russia.
