The report based on the results of the Open Dialogue was presented at the National Centre RUSSIA
On June 16, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a press conference dedicated to the presentation of the international report "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth" based on the results of the Open Dialogue.
The Open Dialogue of the National Centre RUSSIA, titled "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth," held in April 2025, brought together 696 essays from authors and experts representing more than 100 countries. The submissions covered four areas: investments in human capital, technology, connectivity, and environment. The authors explored global changes and prospects for the development of the world economy, with a focus on the countries of the global majority. The best ideas were included in a 100-page report.
"We reached out to the expert community around the world with a proposal to share their hypotheses about the future of the world economy and received nearly 700 essays from over 100 countries. It turned into a real brainstorm, where different perspectives emerged, yet with a shared understanding of the need for a new model of growth. We recognised the strong demand for the Open Dialogue format and decided to hold it regularly. The next meeting will take place in 2026 here at the National Centre RUSSIA. And already on June 18, as part of SPIEF 2025, we will continue the discussion at the session 'Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth'," said Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA Natalia Virtuozova.
The report "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth" was prepared by the Centre for Cross-Sector Expertise "Third Rome." The document proposes alternative models of global development, focusing on human-centred approaches, technological advancement, and sustainability. The authors of the report introduced a new term — "countries of the global majority." These are the states that are set to define the new platform for global economic growth.
"I thank the National Centre RUSSIA for the opportunity to participate in such a large-scale and significant project. Seven hundred works from 100 countries represent the voice of the global majority. In a changing world, countries that were previously in the shadows are coming to the forefront. The term we introduced, 'countries of the global majority,' includes not only BRICS but all the states that hold the future," explained Natalia Stapran, Director of the Centre for Cross-Sector Expertise "Third Rome."
The report is structured around four themes and contains about 50 quotations from the authors of the best essays. Among them are representatives not only of the countries of the global majority but also from the USA, Estonia, Spain, and Germany. According to Swiss geopolitical analyst and journalist Lucy Morgan Edwards, Russia currently holds a leading position in shaping the world economy.
"I want to thank the National Centre RUSSIA for such a warm welcome. This is my first time in Moscow, and I already feel the amazing energy here. In Western society, we are beginning to lose that energy. I am interested in the phenomenon of censorship. I applaud you for launching this incredible Open Dialogue process, which should be continued every year to gather opinions from all countries. Russia is becoming a leader in the economy. You have a wonderful culture and rich land; you are at the centre of the world," Lucy Morgan Edwards emphasised during the press conference.
On June 18 at SPIEF, the session "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth" will take place, moderated by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation. Experts from Russia and other countries will analyse the trends shaping the new architecture of the global economy, highlighting the growing role of BRICS and the countries of the global majority.
