The National Centre RUSSIA and the Centre for Islamic Civilisation sign a cooperation agreement in Uzbekistan
On 20 April, at the "INNOPROM. Central Asia" International Trade Fair in Tashkent, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Centre RUSSIA and the Centre for Islamic Civilisation. The document formalises the parties' intentions to develop humanitarian and cultural interaction. The agreement was signed by Natalia Virtuozova, Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, and Rustam Dzhabbarov, Scientific Secretary of the Centre for Islamic Civilisation. The ceremony took place as part of the panel discussion "Dialogue of Generations: A Fashionable Trend towards Tradition", for which the National Centre acted as a partner.
Natalia Virtuozova noted that historical continuity serves as the foundation for the longstanding ties between Russia and Uzbekistan. The mission of the Centre for Islamic Civilisation resonates with the goals of the National Centre RUSSIA — to show the strength of traditions and the contribution of people building the present and the future of their countries through respect for the past and pride in achievements.
For his part, Rustam Dzhabbarov emphasised that historical heritage must be integrated into the fabric of modern life to ensure the harmonious development of the future. Therefore, the Centre's mission, he said, is not only to acquaint the citizens of Uzbekistan with their own culture but also to build bridges between the country and the rest of the world.
The Centre for Islamic Civilisation in Tashkent is the largest scientific and educational complex. Its exposition covers millennia of development of culture, science, and spiritual thought in Uzbekistan. The Centre also features a library with a collection of over 45,000 publications, restoration laboratories, a children's museum, and spaces for temporary expositions and educational programmes.
The International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. Central Asia" in Tashkent became the first overseas event involving the National Centre RUSSIA. The Department Store RUSSIA — the flagship project of the Centre — is presented at the venue of the trade fair, bringing together unique products from more than 50 manufacturers from 39 regions of the country. The stand's design, performed in a merchant style, emphasises the closeness of the cultures of Russia and Uzbekistan and their centuries-old tradition of openness and mutual respect.
