President of Russia Vladimir Putin took three cards with wishes from children in difficult life situations from the New Year tree at the National Centre RUSSIA. The All-Russian "New Year Tree of Wishes" campaign is organised by the Movement of the First with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and helps caring people fulfil the New Year wishes of children with disabilities, orphans, children from families of participants in the special military operation, as well as children living in border regions and affected by shelling.

Timur Ryasnoy from Khanty-Mansiysk became the first participant whose wish was taken from the tree by Vladimir Putin. The five-year-old dreams of trying himself in the role of a traffic police officer. Varvara Smakhtina, a nine-year-old schoolgirl from Moscow, dreams of meeting a cosmonaut from the Roscosmos squad, and seven-year-old Igor Stepanenko from the Moscow region wished to visit the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad.

Among those who greeted the President near the "New Year Tree of Wishes" at the National Centre RUSSIA was Artem Palyanov, whose dream the head of state fulfilled in 2018. Back then, the young man was able to see St Petersburg from a bird’s-eye view from a helicopter.

Vladimir Putin’s participation in the All-Russian "New Year Tree of Wishes" campaign has become a good tradition: every year he fulfils several children’s New Year dreams, setting a personal example that care for children and good deeds are accessible to everyone.

The head of state pays close attention to children’s wishes and emphasises the importance of making sure that children welcome the New Year with a sense of magic, kindness, and support. He is convinced that these values must be passed on to younger generations. Since 2018, the "New Year Tree of Wishes" has helped children across the country welcome the New Year with a dream come true, and the President’s participation reminds everyone that each person can become the creator of a true miracle and make the holiday brighter and kinder for children. Over seven years, Vladimir Putin has personally fulfilled 21 New Year wishes.

Last year, the President fulfilled three more wishes: ten-year-old Margarita Rutsinskaya from the Belgorod region tried herself as a pilot and flew in a flight simulator; twelve-year-old Taisiya Leonova from the Moscow region attended a masterclass with ballet artists and a rehearsal of the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble; and fifteen-year-old Arina Porkhal from the Donetsk People’s Republic visited St Petersburg, saw many landmarks and attended the ballet "The Nutcracker" at the Mariinsky Theatre.

Three New Year trees decorated the National Centre RUSSIA during the International Forum of Civil Participation #WEARETOGETHER. The Forum also hosted a dedicated space for the All-Russian "New Year Tree of Wishes" campaign. Every guest can become a true magician and make a miracle happen by fulfilling a child’s cherished wish. Over the years of the campaign, more than 320,000 children’s wishes from 89 regions of the country have been fulfilled.
