New Year trees decorated according to the traditions of the regions will be installed on the Main Alley of VDNH during the International RUSSIA EXPO

The ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"» and the Federal Agency for Forestry (Rosleskhoz) signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the project "Christmas Trees of Russia" at the International RUSSIA EXPO.

In early December, the Main Alley of VDNH will be decorated with Christmas trees according to the traditions and culture of all 89 regions of Russia. The 90th tree on the Alley will be a blue spruce, symbolizing the whole country - it will unite all regions. By New Year's Eve, the fir trees will be decorated by florists-designers of the project "Christmas Trees of Russia" together with participants of the movement "Forest Volunteers".

"The wealth of our huge country is in people, diversity of cultures and traditions. The project "Christmas Trees of Russia" will help to reveal the identity of each region of Russia. The same goal is pursued by our Exposition", - said Natalia Virtuozova, director general of the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"», and also thanked the Rosleskhoz for providing the spruce trees.

The trees will arrive at VDNH from the Moscow region, where they have been carefully grown for many years. Now the spruce trees are being prepared for transportation to the territory of the exposition. The trees will be dug up and transported very carefully so that none of the spruces will be damaged and will take root in the future. 

"Guests of the exposition will be able to become better acquainted not only with the traditions of our multinational state, but also learn new things about the forests of our country. Within the framework of the project we will tell about the forest riches of each region and "Forest Volunteers" will help us with this", - said the head of Rosleskhoz Ivan Sovetnikov. 

Later the blue spruce trees will be planted on the territory near VDNH and will become a long-term reminder of the RUSSIA EXPO as a symbol of commonwealth and unity of all regions of the Russian Federation.

The International RUSSIA EXPO will be opened on November 4, 2023 at VDNH in Moscow and will last until April 12, 2024. It will feature both federal ministries and corporations as well as all 89 subjects of the Russian Federation. The expositions will tell about the uniqueness, achievements and opportunities of each region of Russia. During the Days of Regions each subject of the Russian Federation will present its achievements in various spheres, demonstrate the performances of creative groups and its gastronomic peculiarities.

The project "Christmas Trees of Russia" is supported by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"», the Federal Agency for Forestry and the All-Russian public movement "Forest Volunteers".
