Magical journey: hits from Soviet cartoons were performed at the RUSSIA EXPO
The festive concert "Magical Journey" for the International Children's Day featured songs from Soviet movies and cartoons, as well as famous compositions by foreign authors.
The performance was attended by children from the Children's Choir of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, whose artistic director is Yulia Molchanova. The songs were also performed by artists of the Youth Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theater under the direction of Dmitry Vdovin and the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anton Grishanin. The concert was directed by Vyacheslav Zykov.
According to the plot, three friends who have received a powerful magic wand from the Wizard find themselves in the Soviet past. There they meet characters from their favorite fairy tales and movies. The children visit the school where their parents studied, meet their favorite characters and experience incredible adventures. However, the magic wand breaks, and the characters search for a flower with one petal — it gives them the opportunity to return home. The main themes of the concert were love, friendship and faith in miracles.
The children performed more than 20 famous songs. These included "Long Live the Surprise" by Yuri Entin, "If You Go on the Road with a Friend" by composer Vladimir Shainsky, "Winged Swings" from the movie "The Adventures of Electronic", "The Golden Sunbeam" from the cartoon "The Bremen Musicians" and many others. In particular, songs from the cartoons "Aladdin" and "The Lion King" were performed in Russian.
The concert was organized by the "Classics and Modernity" Center for Support of Culture and Art. The project is being realized with the use of a grant provided by the Russian Culture Foundation as part of the federal project "Creative People" of the national project "Culture".
