Development issues of the fashion industry were discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
At the case session "Sustainable Fashion: Opportunities for Russian Designers, Manufacturers and Buyers", representatives of the Russian creative industry, together with Georgy Rostovshchikov, CEO of Fashion Hub Russia, discussed the prospects of this market. The event took place in the Department Store space as part of Sustainable Development Week.
"I would like to note that Fashion Hub Russia is a whole group of companies that brings together participants in the ecosystem of the Russian fashion industry. We represent more than 150 commercial brands from across the country. At the end of May, we presented our product to our President, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and received high praise from the head of state. I especially want to thank the management and all the staff of the RUSSIA EXPO for their help and support in promoting our ideas. In the Department Store where we are now, products from different regions are showcased, and all the Exposition guests can explore them. All this is thanks to our collective and coordinated effort," said Georgy Rostovshchikov.
Marina Demchenko, founder of the first Russian fashion magazine, Fashion Collection, and founder and editor-in-chief of the youth magazine WE, spoke to the event participants about her work and how she decided to create the first youth edition where young people play the main role.
"The most important thing is our youth. They are our future. A year ago, I created the youth magazine WE, which is made by talented high school students and university students from across the country for their peers. The main creative initiative comes from them; they create the sections and choose the topics, and my team and I only package and promote it. We also launched an upcycling lab to foster habits of conscious consumption among the population," emphasized Marina Demchenko.
