The Russian Union of Rural Youth launched the All-Russian campaign "Feat of the Village: New Heroes" at the RUSSIA EXPO.  Applications are accepted on the RURY website.

Young people up to 35 years old can participate. They need to submit an application and then publish stories about the feats and achievements of their relatives and fellow villagers, including heroes of the Special Military Operation, in the social network VKontakte under the hashtags #VillageFeat, #PatriotProject, #RuralYouth, #RURY. Also in their publications, participants will tell about their own contribution to the development of their small homeland and supplement their stories with colorful photos.

The brightest stories will be selected for the project brochure and a travelling exposition, which the Russian Union of Rural Youth will launch in Moscow at the sites of its partners. Their authors will be invited to the grand opening of the exposition and will be awarded diplomas and memorable gifts.

In honor of the launch of the campaign, Elena Vasilyeva, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Union of Rural Youth, spoke about the experience of a series of patriotic projects. It all started with the All-Russian project "Salt of the Earth" in 2020, which told about the heroic labor feats of home front workers. More than eight thousand publications about the heroes of the village were made online by the participants of the campaign. They formed a kind of digital chronicle of the exploits of the Soviet home front, with their stream of sincere stories of respect for grandfathers and great-grandfathers who forged the Victory on the battlefields and in the rear. Then in 2021, with the support of the People's Front, the Union launched the campaign "Feat of the Village: Heroes of Labor", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of honoring a man of labor with titles and awards in Russia.

Last year, the "Feat of the Village" campaign was dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. In total, more than 15,000 stories were published during the initiatives.

"In our time it is especially important to pay attention to the patriotic education of the younger generation, to instill a sense of pride for their compatriots in the young from an early age. Our project "Feat of the Village: New Heroes" is also aimed at making as many people as possible aware of the achievements, labor and heroic feats of rural residents. These are the achievements of rural doctors, rural teachers, young farmers, and Russian military servicemen who are right now on the front line defending our country. We are confident that informing young people about the new Heroes of Russia and giving them the opportunity to tell about the heroic deeds of their fellow villagers and relatives will raise the patriotic spirit among the entire population of the country," commented project supervisor Egor Kadykov.
