Meeting with the Hero of Russia, fashion show and legendary athletes: Arkhangelsk Region Day
The Northern outpost, nuclear and space shield of the great country — the Arkhangelsk region — presented its achievements at the RUSSIA EXPO. According to Governor Alexander Tsybulsky, the region’s development prospects are limitless.

Thanks to the RUSSIA EXPO, this has been done brilliantly", — emphasized Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of the Arkhangelsk region.
The main shipbuilding center of Russia is the White Sea shipyards of Severodvinsk in the Arkhangelsk region. The legendary Sevmash enterprise serves the country’s nuclear submarine fleet. Arkhangelsk enterprises use innovative technologies in terms of wood utilization, participate in reforestation programs.
The guests of the exposition learned about diamond mining in the region, as well as about its tourist potential. At the moment the city of Arkhangelsk is the center of Arctic science and education. On the instructions of the head of state, the creation of the Arctic Star campus has begun in the Arkhangelsk region.
Tourists in the region are attracted by the Solovetsky Archipelago, the museum of wooden architecture Malye Korely, national parks Kenozersky, Onega Pomorye and Russian Arctic, as well as many other interesting objects.
Visitors to the exposition on the Day of the Region were treated to meetings with skiing legends Alexander Zavyalov, Nikolai Zimyatov and Natalia Nepryaeva, an interactive trip to the county town of Velsk, presentation of The North in the Heart project, as well as workshops on making a brooch with elements of northern embroidery, cooking Pomor cuisine, tying nautical knots, fabric printing, Mezen painting, birch bark weaving and much more.
The guests of the exposition also had a meeting with Hero of Russia, famous cosmonaut Ivan Wagner, autograph session with hockey players of Vodnik hockey club, fashion show of designer Anna Zlotko and other cultural events.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievement of the country gathered in one place. During the entire time of the exposition, guests are welcomed with cultural and entertainment events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors.
The forums are being held on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
The educational forum "Time of Unity", organised by the Russian society Znanie, was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 29 September.
Dmitry Zhuravlev, Academic Director of the Institute of Regional Problems, was one of the experts at the "Time of Unity" educational forum.
