We invite guests of the RUSSIA EXPO to visit Pavilion No. 16 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment this weekend, December 9-10. From Monday, December 11, the exposition "Prirodograd. City of Professions" will be closed for repairs. The pavilion will open its doors again on December 18 at 10 am.

Two remarkable expositions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation are operating at the International RUSSIA EXPO. The one in Pavilion C is "Prirodograd" and the other in Pavilion No. 16 is "Prirodograd. City of Professions." This exposition will be unavailable during the week of December 11-17. On the coming Saturday and Sunday the exposition is available from 10 am to 10 pm.

In the City of Professions, children aged 6 to 14 can try their hand at being scientists, explorers and meteorologists. But most exciting of all is the opportunity to become a firefighter. After all, it's not every day that you have a mission to save forests, and even more so with the use of such an interesting technology as artificial rain.

"We were divided into pairs and sent to helicopters. These are simulators where it feels like you're really flying. I was the pilot and my partner was the dispatcher. I had to fly over a cloud and she had to shoot it to make it rain. We had three squibs, though we missed once, but we still put out the fire", - said 12-year-old Ruslan Zakirov.

It turns out that hitting the cloud with squibs - special charges with silver iodide - really causes condensation of moisture. And in half an hour it starts to rain heavily and for a long time. This is always useful when fighting natural fires. This technology of extinguishing began to be used back in the USSR, and it does not harm the environment.

Important: the excursion is available only for children aged 6-14. Children go to extinguish fires, call lightning and study metrology in the company of animators, without parents. During the 30-minute tour, adults can visit the neighboring pavilions, sit in a cafe or just walk around the territory of VDNH.
