At the National Centre RUSSIA, within the framework of the first All-Russian Pedagogical Congress, the exposition "Big Changes" was presented. The exposition traced the development of Russian education from the first steps towards mass literacy to the introduction of advanced digital technologies. Visitors were able to follow the evolution of schools and kindergartens, learn about the challenges teachers faced in different historical periods, and become familiar with the key objectives being addressed today by the Ministry of Education of Russia.

In his speech at the first All-Russian Pedagogical Congress in modern history, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov emphasised that the Russian education system is among the best in the world, built upon the systemic approach for which the Soviet school was renowned.

"It was precisely during the Soviet era that the system was created which allowed us to say that our school was the best in the world. One of its architects, Minister of Education of the USSR Mikhail Alekseyevich Prokofiev, established unified programmes and a single system for teacher training. A section of our exposition 'Big Changes' is dedicated to him. When in the 1990s attempts were made to dismantle this system, the quality of education began to decline, and alien values were imposed on our country. Today, with the support of the President of Russia, we have restored our education system and created a single educational space," said the Minister of Education of Russia.

In a museum-interactive format, the "Big Changes" exposition showcased artefacts, documents and photographs from different eras connected with education. Visual and multimedia solutions in the exposition conveyed the atmosphere of each historical period in terms of educational and upbringing processes.

The All-Russian Pedagogical Congress was organised by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation with the support of the National Centre RUSSIA and became a unique platform for professional dialogue, exchange of experience and development of strategic decisions. The event brought together more than 1,300 participants — representatives of leading universities and schools of the country, laureates of professional competitions, teachers, leading scholars of the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian Academy of Sciences, representatives of legislative and executive authorities, leaders of public organisations, and the business community. The central event of the Congress was a panel discussion dedicated to the Education Development Strategy until 2036.
