The 80th anniversary of Leningrad's liberation from the Nazi blockade was celebrated at the RUSSIA EXPO. The famous musical ensemble Turetsky Choir performed a concert program "War Songs" at the St. Petersburg stand. Veterans - residents of the blockaded Leningrad - were invited to the event.

The concert featured patriotic songs, as well as famous compositions created in memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War, and, of course, the "Evening Song" - a popular work by composer Vasily Solovyov-Sedoi to lyrics by Alexander Churkin, which is considered the unofficial anthem of St. Petersburg.

"I am proud that I am the son of a front-line soldier and my father was a participant in the breakthrough of the Leningrad blockade. I was five years old when I saw the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad", my dad showed it to me. I wish you health and good mood, and I wish St. Petersburg prosperity. This city will always adorn our country, and this city is in everyone's heart," said Mikhail Turetsky, the founder and leader of the ensemble.

In addition to the concert program by the Turetsky Choir, on the Day of the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade, the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO enjoyed presentations, patriotic commemoration events, lectures and concerts, meetings with historians and cultural figures, and performances by the best artists and bands.

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the entire period of the Exposition, guests can look forward to cultural events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. The exposition takes place on the territory of VDNH in Moscow.
