The end of the wedding festival, a masterclass in folk painting and an opera concert. Events to visit at the RUSSIA EXPO on May 19
There will
be many interesting events at the RUSSIA EXPO on May 19. Guests will be able to
see the finals of the All-Russian Wedding Festival, get to know about wedding
traditions of the country's regions and learn wood painting. Here's a look at
the events worth attending at the Exposition.
The guests
will enjoy masterclasses on baking wedding loaf, cooking roasted piglet, plum
uzvar and other national wedding dishes, as well as a performance by the folk
choir of the Tula College of Arts named after A.S. Dargomyzhsky and a musical
performance “Puppet Wedding” using the local dialect and accompanied by
authentic musical instruments.

Istoki International Choreographic Festival-Competition
“Istok” is
the All-Russian competition of folklore folk dance and ballet art, which is
considered one of the largest and most prestigious choreographic competitions.
The audience will be able to see unique dance numbers that embody the beauty
and diversity of Russian culture.

Traditional
Russian wedding festivities with songs and dances will be demonstrated at the
Exposition. All participants of the procession will be dressed in ancient
costumes of different regions of Russia. The wedding procession will end with a
dance party - couple dances accompanied by a village orchestra: accordion,
balalaika, violin, tambourine.

Open Day of
Moscow State Technological University STANKIN
Moscow
State Technological University STANKIN will hold an Open Day for applicants.
During the event everyone will be able to get acquainted with the university
and ask all the questions to the representatives of the selection committee.

At the
beginning of the event, creative groups from the Central Federal District
regions will perform at the Arch of the Main Entrance. Afterwards, in the midst
of the street show, couples in traditional wedding dresses will solemnly arrive
on the square in front of the arch. Having lined up in a noisy column, the
procession will start its march to the Main Street Stage of the Exposition.
Throughout the route, the couples will be accompanied by artists, animators and
a Gypsy band with music and dances.

The stage
will show a story about Maryushka's boundless love for her fiancé, compassion
and overcoming a difficult path. The fairy tale has a different world, talking
animals and outlandish objects. The audience will not only see a familiar plot,
but will also understand the hidden meanings of the fairy tale.

Solemn
wedding ceremony of couples from the Central Federal District. Passing the
flame of the All-Russian Family Hearth. Closing of the All-Russian Wedding
Festival
On the last
day of the All-Russian Wedding Festival a solemn wedding ceremony will be held
for couples from the Central Federal District, followed by a solemn handover of
the flame of the All-Russian Family Hearth to the musical accompaniment of the
string orchestra “Globalis” under the direction of Leonid Butinsky.

Festive
concert on the occasion of the end of the All-Russian Wedding Festival with the
participation of creative groups of the Central Federal District.
To mark the
end of the All-Russian Wedding Festival, the guests will enjoy a festive
concert dedicated to the future of every family and the country as a whole -
the birth and upbringing of children. Soloists of Alla Dukhova's TODES Dance
Theater will present an amazingly beautiful number “Brides”, and creative teams
from the regions of the Central Federal District will perform songs and dances
on wedding themes. The audience will also take part in a mass flash mob to a
modern arrangement of the famous song “Ah, This Wedding”. A beautiful end to
the celebration will be the performance of Yulianna Karaulova with sensuous
love songs.

Masterclass on folk wood painting
Visitors
will be able to learn about the peculiarities of painting in the North and
other regions of Russia, as well as take home a small board painted by their
own hand.

Concert “In the Meadows the Grass Flows, Ivan Praises His Wife”
Wedding
songs of the Peremyshlsky district of the Kaluga region, as well as an old
naming song, after which the newlyweds never parted, will be performed for the
guests of the Exposition! The amateur folk music ensemble “Kaluga Talianka”
under the direction of Elena Balakireva, established in 1987 and earning the
title of “amateur folk”, will perform its colorful program.

Gala
Concert “Masterpieces of Opera Classics”
Everyone
will be able to hear masterpieces of Russian opera classics performed by
soloists of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters and the Symphony Orchestra of

Farmers Fair
The Farmers Fair in Pavilion No. 48 invites you to be amazed by the variety and richness of tastes. Cheeses, sausages, delicacies, Siberian berry jam, chocolate-covered cones, black and red caviar from all regions of the country are presented here. You can comfortably get to our Fair by route No. K, which departs from Pavilion No. 75, as well as from the stop "Northern Loop", located at the arch of the Main Entrance of VDNH. Pavilion No. 48 is within walking distance from the "City Farm" stop.
