The strategic session "Women for the Preservation of a Healthy Society. Women's Health — the Well-Being of the Nation" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO.

"The reality is that the responsibility for the moral education of society has historically been placed on women's shoulders  the origin of the foundations of a healthy society traditionally begins in the family. Against this background, it is especially important to save and strengthen the health of women themselves - active participants in progressive social processes, keepers of traditional values, of the health of their children and their families," said Galina Karelova, Chairwoman of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum.

The main topic on the agenda of the session was measures to support women for the development and implementation of socially significant projects, priority areas in the healthcare system, as well as projects in the field of health protection and social transformations necessary for the state to strengthen family health.

Tatyana Yakovleva, First Deputy Head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, outlined the agency's role in protecting maternity and promoting women's health, and revealed the organization's specific efforts to support women's health, the health of children and families.

The year 2024 was declared the Year of the Family in Russia. In his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a new national project "Family". Oksana Drapkina, coordinator of the project of the Eurasian Women's Forum Council "Women's Health - the Well-Being of the Nation", Director of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Chief External Specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice of the Ministry of Health of Russia, in the context of the current agenda, gave the participants of the meeting an objective assessment of the role of women in the task of preserving the health of the family, and explained how the role of female leaders can be strengthened.

Next, Anastasia Stolkova, First Deputy Director for Development, Head of the Healthcare Directorate of the Roscongress Foundation, shared with the experts data on the promotion of promising women's initiatives and projects aimed at improving the health and quality of life of citizens, and Alla Samoylova, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare, assessed women's contribution to improving the quality of medical care and spoke about the special role of women in this area.

In addition, Natalia Manturova, Chief External Specialist in Plastic Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Cosmetology and Cellular Technologies of the N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, informed the guests of the Exposition about the achievements in the field of innovative aesthetic medicine together with the principles of a healthy lifestyle that contribute to women's health and well-being.

The strategic session ended with the awarding of the winner in the nomination "Woman - Scientist in Medicine" of the competition "Russian Scientific School "Young Medicine", who was Elena Samkovich, the head of the scientific and educational department of the interdisciplinary scientific and technical complex "Eye Microsurgery". Her project on photodynamic therapy for the treatment of uveal melanoma opened new perspectives in the fight against this disease. The new method will not only save people's lives, but also preserve their eyesight.
