Tough karate: world champion showed how to win in Kyokushin Karate
Two-time
world champion and winner of Battle of Champions 10 Evgeny Mamro held a master
class in Kyokushin Karate at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
The Russian
Society "Knowledge" opens the Alley of Glory dedicated to the world
achievements of Russian athletes. The first exposition opens on December 6 and
will be devoted to martial arts: from sambo and judo to kickboxing and kudo.
In the
run-up to the opening of the Alley of Glory, renowned champions gave several
master classes to support young athletes. One of the most memorable was the
performance of Evgeny Mamro. After all, Kyokushin is one of the most difficult
and hardest karate varieties. According to the athlete, not only reaction
speed, strength of blows and incredible endurance are important here, but also
slyness.
Sensei
demonstrated his signature techniques to the students, told them how to confuse
the opponent with the help of eye contact and taught a yoko geri strike, which
is almost impossible to dodge. However, it is not easy to master it, especially
for beginners, but everyone tried their best.
"Yes,
the technique is complicated, but in order for you to grow, young fighters, you
need to know and be able to do all this!" Mamro encouraged the kids.
There were
experienced karate fighters among the participants of the master class, many
could boast of brown and even black belts. And Elizaveta Borodkina at the age
of 18 is already the champion of Russia in Kyokushin. Having noticed the titled
student, sensei offered her to demonstrate kata - a sequence of movements and
blows as if in a battle with an imaginary opponent.
"The
master class was very interesting, it was a pleasure to perform myself and, of
course, to learn the skills from Evgeny Mamro. Although all the moves were
familiar to me, still each coach has a different technique, so it is very
useful", - shared her emotions the athlete.
