Our development is shaped largely by the environment around us. The social initiatives by NLMK Group and its partners contribute to the betterment of this environment.

We want the people around us to be empowered to achieve self-actualization in different fields, to share valuable experience and to help others. To this end, we have been building a comfortable and healthy environment for many years now, investing in education and culture.

Environmental responsibility is one of our key priorities. We preserve nature for a better future for generations to come: we are committed to air and water stewardship, recycling, and biodiversity. This is why the city of Lipetsk, the home of the Group’s flagship site, has been officially recognized by Roshydromet Federal Service for Environmental Monitoring as the cleanest steelmaking location in Russia.

Over 20 years, we have implemented more than 15 large-scale projects in sports infrastructure. We have been providing continuous support to 25 schools and colleges. Our social programmes enabled 38,000 people to receive aid when faced with difficult life events and provided 16 social centres for children with regular material and volunteer support. Our efforts have contributed to the preservation and restoration of over 200 cultural heritage sites across the country.

We are been developing popular sports and healthy lifestyle programmes. We implement targeted healthcare programmes and work on improving the medical infrastructure. Our projects have enrolled 5,000 kids to Olympic reserve sports schools free of charge. Our initiatives make professional medical services available to more than 10,000 people.

We also provide assistance to gifted school and college students, including career guidance programmes, vocational training and professional development programmes. Career guidance programmes reach out to 10,000 school students, and 2,000 college students are awarded scholarships annually.
