Prospects for increasing the tourist flow from China to Vladivostok were discussed at the National Centre RUSSIA
A panel discussion dedicated to the development of the
tourist flow from China to Vladivostok was held at the branch of the National
Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region. Participants included representatives of
Chinese tour operators, the Tourist Information Centre of Primorye and
Vladivostok International Airport.
During the meeting, experts discussed the current situation
and prospects for the development of tourism. The participants noted the
importance of promoting information about Vladivostok’s tourist opportunities
in Chinese media.
"Trips to Vladivostok rank third in popularity among
Chinese tourists after Moscow and St Petersburg. This is due in part to the
cost of tours — a trip to Vladivostok costs about four thousand yuan, while a
trip to Moscow is about five thousand," said the CEO of China Cross
Journey Commercial Service, Sun Xinliang.
The sides discussed the possibility of cooperation with
Chinese bloggers and news channels in Chinese social networks to generate
interest in the region, and agreed to create joint promotional materials.
"As a rule, Chinese tourists receive recommendations
from Chinese travel companies about what to see in Vladivostok from small
brochures. But often they lack information about many attractions. We need to
include more interesting places in the promotional materials and describe them
in as much detail as possible to capture people’s interest," said Mao
Ruihong, Creative Director of the programme "Travelling with Ruihong"
of Anhui Radio and Television Station Travel Agency.
Representatives of the airport and tour operators also
raised the issue of air links between China and Russia. Currently, more than 40
flights a week operate from Vladivostok to eight cities in China. The Chinese
side noted that the number of flights had increased significantly after the
pandemic, but that awareness of interesting places is far more important for
tourists from China. Therefore, the main efforts should be focused in this
direction.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop
specific joint steps for the effective promotion of Vladivostok’s tourist
services in the Chinese market.
The Chinese guests also took a tour of the National Centre
RUSSIA in the Primorye region and were pleasantly surprised by the high-tech
expositions.
"It leaves a very interesting impression — you can
connect with both the past and the future. The installations are fascinating,
showing what Vladivostok might look like in 10–20 years. It is very pleasing to
see such an unusual interactive space. And I think this place will be visited
by many Russian citizens and foreign guests," said Mao Ruihong.
Everyone can take part in the excursions at the Centre free
of charge. To do so, one needs to log in on the website of the National Centre
RUSSIA in the Primorye region and choose a convenient date and time. Excursions
are held daily except Monday from 10:00 to 20:00. Groups are formed of up to 15
people, and the programme lasts 90 minutes. You can also join without prior
registration if there are places available in the group.
