In 2022 "Rospatent" registered an exclusive right to use the geographical indication of "Mordovian bog oak". In fact, the more ancient such wood is, the darker its color becomes. Nowadays OOO "Rost" (Limited liability company) is producing small copies of monuments and busts, icons, geographical maps and some other gifts made of this material.
