Kirish lace

A special kind of lace, called Kirish lace, appeared in the second half of the XIX century on the territory of the present-day Kirish urban settlement of the Leningrad region. Previously, this area was known as Zakhozhskaya volost, and the second name of the lace — Zakhozhskoye — is connected with this. In 2016, entrepreneur Elena Gordeeva started reviving the craft, creating the cultural and historical center "Svetelochka". Now its goods are concidered to be the products of folk arts and crafts.
