National products with a special seam

Sewing leather goods is a traditional Tatar art. Masters from ancient times used a special seam — "kayu", which joins the parts of the item and decorates it at the same time. Historically, leather shoes have been produced by both small craftsmen and large factories. The tradition is being developed now: in 2010 artists Ildus Gaynutdinov and Alfiya Artemyeva opened the enterprise "Sakhtian". It manufactures products that meet modern trends while using all the richness of national traditions in the design.
