The art bone-carving factory opened in the town of Tobolsk as far back as 1929. They have been developing the bone-carving craft so far, in particular, creating miniature sculptures. In fact, they are using quite various materials nowadays, including both expensive mammoth tusks and more easily accessible elk horns and cow bones. The storylines of the compositions are mostly related to the North.
