12 thousand kilometers by car: Marat Khusnullin spoke about the construction of the highway named "Russia"
One of the key priorities in the country today is the
construction of the Russia highway, which will connect St. Petersburg and
Vladivostok. It is already possible to travel along this road with not a single
traffic light on the way, and at a comfortable speed, from the northern capital
to Yekaterinburg. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat
Khusnullin stated this on 28 October while making a presentation at the
"Platform of the Future: 100 projects of Russia. Construction" presentation
session, which was hosted by the National Centre RUSSIA.
"As for the Russia highway, we have now reached
Yekaterinburg. What does it mean? It means that from St. Petersburg to
Yekaterinburg, you can drive along a lighted road where there is not a single
traffic light, and a speed limit is 130 kilometers per hour in summer and 110
in winter. This is a good, high-quality road," said Marat Khusnullin.
During the implementation of the Russia highway project, the
M-12 Vostok expressway, which connects Moscow and Kazan, has already been
commissioned. The traffic flow on the M-7 highway, which connects the capital
and Tatarstan, has decreased by 5%, while on the M-12, it has significantly
increased. This indicates the emergence of new cargo flows, the growth of passenger
traffic, and the improvement of economic ties between the regions, Marat
Khusnullin said.
"Of course, we will extend this route to Vladivostok.
We're going step by step. Most of the roads are two-lane ones, but where there
is traffic of more than 10 thousand cars per day, we will extend them to four
lanes. This is the first priority of development. The second priority is
bypassing cities and towns. Many roads used to run directly through populated
areas. Who likes it when huge, loaded trucks drive through your city around the
clock? Therefore, we are actively working on this issue. On behalf of the
President, we are building detours of cities and small towns. 14 of them were
commissioned last year. By the end of 2030, 46 more detours will be ready,"
said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
A series of
thematic programmes "Platform of the Future: 100 projects of Russia"
is being held at the National Centre RUSSIA. They are dedicated to the
national development goals outlined in the Presidential Decree No. 309. Five more thematic meetings will be held
before the end of the year. The most important initiatives covering the social
and infrastructural sphere, environmental issues, industry, economy and culture
will be presented there. The projects will be presented by members of the
Russian Government and heads of ministries responsible for the implementation
of national projects and the achievement of national goals. The presentations
will be made at the National Centre RUSSIA.
From 1 to 30 November, the Days of the Far Eastern Regions will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The less time it takes to travel, the better the country's economy and a person's financial situation.
On 28 October, the expert discussion "The Role of Youth in the Construction Industry" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA.
