A meeting with the actor, showman, singer, producer and lecturer of the Russian society Znanie, Stas Yarushin, was held on 16 December at the National Centre RUSSIA in the Krasnoyarsk region. The theme of the talk was "Stage, Dialogue and New Meanings – How Creative Industries Build Bridges Between Regions and Generations". The event, organised by the Russian society Znanie, took place as part of the opening of the National Centre RUSSIA in Krasnoyarsk. The meeting was moderated by television journalist Olga Dubrovskaya.

"Today, more than ever, it is important to create live, honest and horizontal connections between people from different cities, between fathers and children. The stage, theatrical platforms, a concert venue or a gadget screen become a space for dialogue. And creative industries are the 'bridge builders' – through stories, images and emotions, they help to find a common language where it might seem impossible. We can and must create new meanings together – this is the most exciting work of our time," Stas Yarushin said during the lecture.

More than 300 young people from Krasnoyarsk came to listen to the well-known actor. He shared how art and digital content erase geographical and age boundaries, shaping a new shared cultural identity. During the meeting, the artist answered a question about what patriotism means to him: "Patriotism towards one’s country begins with a small homeland. I am incredibly proud to be from Chelyabinsk. People ask me: 'If you are a patriot, why did you leave?' – and I answer: 'My heart is there, but I needed to scale up.' My parents instilled in me a love for my small homeland, and I treat my native places with deep reverence."

Stas Yarushin noted that it is only possible to stay relevant for decades by remaining true to oneself. The participants of the meeting also discussed with interest the changes in the creative industry in the era of digital platforms, as well as the emergence of new formats, including modern spaces such as the National Centre RUSSIA.

"National centres are a wonderful thing, because first and foremost they tell the story of our country and its regions. I like that young people are getting to know this history. If such Centres had existed in my time, of course it would have been interesting. There is communication here, a social environment. And it is very pleasant that people today, especially young people, receive information in such a creative format," Stas Yarushin added.

"Znanie. Lecture Hall" is an educational project of the Russian society Znanie that brings lectures and educational talks with speakers to every region of the country. The National Centre RUSSIA supports this large-scale educational project. All lectures can be attended free of charge, with the opportunity to interact in person with well-known figures from Russia.
