Alexander Karelin taught industrial gymnastics to the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO
On the Main Street Stage of the RUSSIA EXPO, guests of the exposition practiced industrial gymnastics together with Alexander Karelin, Senator, three-time Olympic champion, multiple world and European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, Hero of Russia.
Industrial gymnastics is a set of physical exercises that are performed at the workplace and included in the workday regime in order to increase working capacity, improve health and prevent fatigue.
"It is symbolic that we hold this session on the Exposition's Alley of Glory, where the successes of Russian athletes in many sports are immortalized. Perhaps this will encourage some of the young people to take up sports seriously or simply lead a healthy lifestyle. A straight back and good muscle tone allow you to work much longer and more efficiently. As soon as you feel tired — shake yourself up and do some industrial gymnastics, you will feel invigorated and energized," Alexander Karelin addressed the guests of the Exposition.
Together with Alexander Karelin, industrial gymnastics for the visitors of the RUSSIA EXPO was conducted by Mikhail Shkarin, Master of Sports of Russia, member of the Moscow and Russian national teams in Greco-Roman wrestling among juniors, silver medalist of the World Championship and multiple champion of Russian championships, and Dmitry Dolgov, Candidate Master of Sports of Russia, member of the Moscow and Russian national teams in Greco-Roman wrestling among juniors, winner of the Moscow championship and medalist of the Russian championship among juniors.
"When parents ask me how to keep their children away from computers and involve them in sports, I answer: it is necessary not to keep them away, but to properly balance it. Industrial gymnastics is good because thanks to it you can shake yourself up and get less tired during the working day. I think that in such a territory of symbols, meanings and reasons to be proud of our wonderful state as the Exposition, such gymnastics should be held as often as possible. Many of our renowned athletes and venerable coaches can act as instructors of industrial gymnastics here," said Alexander Karelin.
