Alexei Besprozvannykh tells President about the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA
The Governor of the Kaliningrad region, Alexei
Besprozvannykh, informed the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir
Putin, about the initiative to build a branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in
Kaliningrad.
The concept for the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in
the Kaliningrad region has been developed as part of the preparations for the
80th anniversary of the region, which is celebrated in 2026. According to the
project, the building will become part of a public space in the historical centre
of the region's capital, created on the site of the former House of Soviets.
"We want to make the project of creating a modern
public space — the Central Square, where the House of Soviets used to be — a
flagship project, and put forward the initiative to locate a branch of the
National Centre RUSSIA there. This is of strategic importance for us. The Far
East is the eastern gateway to Russia, and Kaliningrad is the western
one," said the Governor of the Kaliningrad region, Alexei Besprozvannykh.
Branches of the National Centre RUSSIA are being established
by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to
showcase achievements and foster a sense of pride in the country.
Currently, branches of the National Centre RUSSIA are open
in the Primorye region, the Krasnoyarsk region, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous
Area – Yugra. In 2026, new spaces are planned to open in the Ryazan region and
the hero city of Sevastopol. At the National Centre RUSSIA, eight regions
presented their projects for the creation of branches: the Republic of Sakha
(Yakutia), the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Yaroslavl region, the Kaliningrad
region, the Kirov region, the Khabarovsk region, the Kabardino-Balkarian
Republic, and the Republic of Karelia. All concepts have been agreed upon with
varying stages and timelines for implementation.
On 19 March, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the presentation of project proposals for the space's branches in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth" will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA from 27 to 29 April 2026.
