The Kirov region secures approval for its project to create a branch of the National Centre RUSSIA
On 19 March, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the
presentation of project proposals for the space's branches in the constituent
entities of the Russian Federation. Among other regions, the Kirov region
presented its concept. The presentation was delivered by Governor Alexander
Sokolov. It was evaluated by Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of
the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the
Organising Committee of the National Centre RUSSIA, and Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy
Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation
and Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee of the National Centre RUSSIA.
"This is a true gift for the Kirov region in its 90th
anniversary year. To receive a high appraisal and support for the construction
of the facility, and to gain trust, we have done a great deal of work. Together
with young people, enterprises, and the public, we developed the concept and a
system of programme events. All this will allow us to increase our investment
and tourism potential, and to host major federal and international programmes —
from the Dairy Congress to the Volga-Vyatka Investment Forum," said the
Governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov.
According to the governor, the branch of the National Centre
RUSSIA is being created to foster, first of all, among the younger generation,
a sense of pride in the achievements and successes of the country and the
region, and an understanding of its role and contribution to Russia's development.
"That is precisely why the multimedia park 'Russia – My
History' will be located in the branch building. Its concept will feature a
regional component covering the epochs from Khlynov to Vyatka and to Kirov in
the country's history. This location will ensure the continuity of Russia's
past, present, and future," added Alexander Sokolov.
The event was also attended by twice Hero of the Soviet
Union, celebrated cosmonaut Viktor Savinykh; Senator of Russia from the Kirov
region, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev; and activists of the Movement of the
First.
The governor noted that visits to the branch will be part of
the educational programmes for kindergartens, schools, secondary vocational
institutions, and universities of the Kirov region. The Movement of the First,
the Russian society Znanie, and other public organisations will conduct their
educational and outreach programmes in the space. For the younger generation,
the opportunity to visit the exposition online will be created, while the
foundation of the exposition in offline format will be interactive.
The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the
President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to showcase achievements
and foster a sense of pride in the country.
Currently, branches are open in the Primorye region, the
Krasnoyarsk region, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra. In 2026, new
spaces are planned to open in the Ryazan region and the hero city of
Sevastopol. On 19 March, eight regions presented their project proposals for
consideration: the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Nizhny Novgorod region, the
Yaroslavl region, the Kaliningrad region, the Kirov region, the Khabarovsk
region, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, and the Republic of Karelia. All
branch concepts have been agreed upon with varying stages and timelines for
implementation.
The Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth" will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA from 27 to 29 April 2026.
