The All-Russian Sports Dictation is an excellent opportunity to remember outstanding athletes, coaches, and significant events that shaped the history of Russian sports. Today it is especially important to recall these people and facts, and to employ them as a foundation for new achievements. On 5 October, in an interview to the press service of the National Centre RUSSIA, Andrei Kirilenko, President of the Russian Basketball Federation, said this.

"This is a great opportunity to remember sports stories, to remember those guys who created this history — coaches, athletes, as well as various events and regions that hosted these competitions. It seems to me that it is extremely important to remember our history and make new achievements based on it," the European champion of 2007, and the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist, said.

In addition, Andrei Kirilenko shared his impressions of visiting the National Centre RUSSIA. According to him, the impressions are great: "You can see the scope of the Centre and the huge number of young people who are here. This is certainly very pleasant, because when there is our country's next generation, the building is filled with meaning. And when it's all connected with sports and various disciplines which I like, the joy doubles."

The All-Russian Sports Dictation was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 5 October. Nearly 250,000 people from all over the country took part in it. The main purpose of the event is to promote knowledge about physical culture and sports, the Olympic Games and a healthy lifestyle.
