An interview with Vasily Orlov, Governor of the Amur region, has been published on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA

An interview of the Amur Governor Vasily Orlov to the National Centre RUSSIA Press Office was published on the official website of the National Centre. The head of the region spoke about the development of cooperation with China, investment projects and prospects for the economy and tourism of the Amur region.

Vasily Orlov noted that China is the main foreign economic partner of the region, which accounts for up to 80% of foreign trade turnover. He stressed the importance of projects which are being implemented in gas processing and gas-to-chamicals fields, including the gas cluster in Svobodny, the construction of Gazprom plants and the Sibur gas chemical complex. The Governor also spoke about attracting investments, implementing high-tech projects, creating an international campus of Amur State University, and training highly qualified personnel on the spot.

Special attention was paid to infrastructure and tourism projects: the operation of the Blagoveshchensk-Haihe Bridge, the construction of a cable car and the modernization of Blagoveshchensk airport. The Governor highlighted the development of tourism, including museums and interactive facilities such as the House of Russian-Chinese Friendship and the Dinosaur Museum, as well as industrial routes for tourists.
