Events digest: weekly highlights from the National Centre RUSSIA
The final
of the sporting tournament "What? Where? When?", a lecture
"Palaces of Russia", the Day of the Inventor and Innovator, and other
events of this week -- are in our announcement.
June 24.
The final of the sporting tournament "What? Where? When?" Knowledge.
Game: Schools and Colleges
The event
will bring together 75 erudite teams from 38 regions of Russia. There will be
15 teams that showed the best results during the qualifying games, 20
teams-leaders of partner tournaments organized under the license of the
copyright holder LLC "TV company "Igra-TV", as well as 40 teams
that were selected based on the results of the online cup "Knowledge. Game".
The results
of the tournament's final game will determine 10 teams which will be awarded:
one absolute winner of the competition, and 9 prize-winners. All of them will
receive valuable gifts from the event's partners. In the new season, Rosatom
State Corporation is the general partner of the tournament.
Sergey
Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Maxim Dreval,
Director General of the Russian Society Znanie, Olesya Teterina, Director
General of the NGO More than a Journey, and others are invited to participate.
June 25. An educational lecture "Palaces of Russia" with Elizaveta Likhacheva
The cycle
of educational lectures on architecture at the National Centre RUSSIA goes on.
Now it will have a new name — "Symbols of Time", it will become more
extensive, and will include talks about fine art, sculpture, photography, and
fashion, and the role of the curator in the modern culture.
The lecture
"Palaces of Russia" will discuss the formation and development of the
Russian palace architecture — from the royal chambers to the State Kremlin
Palace. The audience will get acquainted with the architects who created the
ceremonial appearance of royal residences, palaces, and palace-and-park
ensembles, and also will learn about the mutual influence of our and other
countries on each other, as well as about innovative solutions that were born
at that time.
Experts
will talk about the unique engineering solutions of Peterhof, the mystical
Engineering Castle and the Winter Palace, where the country's history was made.
Besides, they will discuss the Soviet period, when the Palace of Soviets
project was created.
The event
will traditionally be conducted by an art critic and architectural historian
Elizaveta Likhacheva, and her companion at the lecture will be an art critic,
senior researcher at the State Museum of Architecture named after Shchusev
Kirill Posternak.
June 26.
Meeting of the Final Board of the Federal Agency for the Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh)
Representatives
of state authorities and public organizations involved in the implementation of
the youth policy will summarize the results of the Rosmolodezh's activities in
2024, and announce plans for 2025.
After the
meeting, a press conference will be held for mass media with the participation
of the regional heads. At the press conference, the participants will talk
about the upcoming Youth Day Festival, which will be held across the country on
June 28 as part of the "Know, Be proud, Love, make more" concept.
Also, they will summarize the results of the "Region of Good Deeds"
and "Region for the Young" contests. Both programs are included into
the new national project "Youth and Children", launched on behalf of
the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
An open discussion "Video games as a tool for teaching values and protecting historical memory"
The event,
organized by the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISI), will bring
together leading representatives of the video games industry, analysts and
public figures to discuss the role of video games in shaping historical consciousness
and in promoting traditional values.
The
discussion will be attended by Polina Kazantseva, Deputy Director of the EISI
Internet Research Department; Alexander Tolkach, producer and one of the
authors of the "Squad 22: ZOV" game; Vitaly Shutov, Creative Director
of the "Playing Cats" Studio; Oksana Gural, Vice-President of the
Russian Computer Sports Federation; Anna Kozlova, Executive Director of the
"IGROPROM" Exposition and Festival; Vladimir Taranenko, Deputy Head
of the Executive Committee at the All-Russian People's Front "For
Russia"; Yaroslav Meshalkin, Managing Partner of "Heads'made";
and Konstantin Kuranov, head of special projects at the Russian Military
Historical Society. The event will be moderated by Nikita Setov, Deputy General
Director at GR of the "Polylog" Consulting Group.
The 115th birthday of Alexander Tvardovsky at the Literature Club "What would you (like to) read?!"
An event dedicated to the 115th year of birth
of Russian writer Alexander Tvardovsky will be held at the author's Literature
Club "What would you (like to) read?!". Together with the invited
speakers, the guests will explore Alexander Tvardovsky's works, which show deep
patriotism and love for his homeland. They will also discuss the importance of
Tvardovsky's poems for the Russian literature, and their role in shaping a
national identity.
The meeting will be attended by Evgenia
Kravchenkova, Associate Professor of Department of the World Literature at the
Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language, Candidate of Philology, and
Yaroslav Skvortsov, Head of the Department of International Journalism at
MGIMO, PhD in Sociology, Editor-in-Chief of the "International
Communications" journal, Acting Dean of the School of International
Journalism at MGIMO, member of the Union of Journalists of Russia.
In
preparation for the 2nd International Symposium "Inventing the
Future," National Centre RUSSIA launched a cycle of discussions where
science meets futurology, and bold predictions meet real technological
advances. The second meeting focuses on revolutionary transformations in
medicine. The participants will discuss innovative treatment methods, the role
of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence in healthcare, and ethical issues
related to the introduction of new technologies.
The meeting
will be hosted by Valery Fedorov, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and
Mass Communications at the Financial University under the Government of the
Russian Federation, Director General of the VTsIOM Analytical Center. His
companions will be Danila Medvedev, Candidate of Economics, futurologist, CEO
of the "NeuroCode" Group of Companies, and Dmitry Telyshev,
Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Director of the Institute of Bionic
Technologies and Engineering, research leader of the advanced engineering
school "Intelligent Systems of Theranostics" at Sechenov University.
The final of the All-Russian contest of final qualifying papers in the "Startup as a diploma" format
The results
of the "Startup as a Diploma" program as a potential for development
of the youth entrepreneurship in the regions of Russia will be presented at the
National Centre RUSSIA. The contestants are schoolchildren and students aged 17
to 35, young entrepreneurs, representatives of entrepreneurial communities and
business clubs (students, mentors, experts).
The program
of the final includes: pitching the finalists in front of experts, investors
and the business community; a presentation of the "Startup as Diploma
2.0" program: a strategy for developing youth entrepreneurship at
universities; the awarding ceremony for the winners of the contest's
"Technological Challenges" track and partners' nominations; awarding
universities developing the "Startup as Diploma" program; work of
thematic platforms; networking with representatives of universities,
entrepreneurs, investors and partners; presenting gifts, and much more.
Olga
Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian
Federation; Alexander Vedekhin, Deputy Director of the Department of State
Youth Policy and Educational Activities at the Ministry of Education and
Science of the Russian Federation; Ksenia Goryacheva, Deputy of the State Duma
of the Russian Federation, the First Deputy of the Chairman of the State Duma
Committee on Science and Higher Education; Maria Bogomolova, Deputy Head of the
Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow, and
others, are invited to participate.
During the
solemn part of the event, the 3rd All-Russian Festival by the VOIR —
"Science and Inventions for Life" — will be launched. It will be held
in 15 regions of the country, and will include more than 400,000 people, as
well as 250 experts from leading scientific and educational organizations in
Russia.
An
interactive science show program with spectacular experiments will be held for
guests and participants. During the day, popular science events will be held
for young inventors, scientists, and all those who are interested in scientific
and technical creativity.
