Anton Siluanov: The Motherland begins with family and home
The Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Anton Siluanov, took part in a survey conducted by the National Centre RUSSIA as part of the All-Russian project "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" In his view, the Motherland is not simply a place on the map, but an inner spiritual feeling passed down from generation to generation.
"The Motherland is the spiritual element within a person. It begins with family and home. These are the first steps, the first words and the love of parents who tell us about our ancestors and our cultural code, which is instilled from the very first days of life," said the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, Anton Siluanov.
He added that the Motherland also means responsibility towards one's native country: what a person gives back through professional achievements aimed at the common good. "The Motherland is also what you give back to the country, what you can professionally contribute to people so that the country develops and people live better."
The All-Russian project "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" is being implemented by the National Centre RUSSIA with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. Its first stage was a survey in which more than 700 people from 71 regions of Russia and foreign countries have already taken part.
As part of the project's next stage, a series of thematic meetings entitled "The Motherland Is People" is being held from July to September. Representatives of federal authorities, opinion leaders and participants from the regions will discuss the role of people in the country's achievements. A new stage will take place from September to October: a series of motivational meetings with outstanding representatives of various professions entitled "The Motherland Is Service". From November to December, events involving heads of regions of the Russian Federation will be held under the slogan "The Motherland Is Home".
