The "Journey Across Russia" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA offers guests a sensory experience — an introduction to the natural aromas of various federal districts of the country. Special installations recreate the characteristic scents of Russian landscapes: from the resinous fragrance of Siberian cedars to the aroma of blooming meadows in the Volga region.

Every visitor can embark on a true "aroma journey" across Russia, discovering the diversity of natural zones through the sense of smell.

Far East: Breath of the Taiga

In the Far Eastern Federal District zone, a fragment of a taiga forest has been recreated with models of rare trees and stump "podiums" holding glass flasks with aromatic compositions. Guests can experience the scents of lemongrass, wild rosemary, cedar, and mint.

Siberia: Herbal Warmth by the Home Hearth

In the Siberian Federal District zone, guests find themselves in a stylised parlour, where a table is set with Siberian delicacies provided by regional producers. Nearby is the "herbal pharmacy" — shelves with fragrant assortments of Siberian herbs.

Volga Region: Floral Symphony

The Volga Federal District greets guests with floral aromas. Here, visitors will find herbariums of Volga meadows, while information panels tell the story of each plant’s origin and unique beneficial properties.

North Caucasus: Relic Forest in the Heart of Moscow

In the North Caucasus Federal District zone, a corner of the Samur forest — Russia’s last large massif of relict liana trees — has been recreated. The zone contains live plants from the relic forest with an intelligent climate control system. The atmosphere is complemented by swings in the centre of the hall. Here, visitors can breathe in the moist air rich in phytoncides and imagine themselves in the very heart of this Dagestani nature reserve.
