Artyom Drabkin invites the public to a history Lecture Hall at the National Centre RUSSIA
How has the Russian metro evolved over the decades? Why are its stations often called underground palaces, and what secrets and legends lie behind the history of the metro? These questions will be explored on 20 October at the National Centre RUSSIA during the history lecture named "From Tsarist Plans to a Digital Future: The History and Architecture of the Russian Metro".
Joining the Lecture Hall's host, Artyom Drabkin, Director of the "I Remember" Foundation and a member of the Academic Council of the Russian Military Historical Society, will be Timur Bashkayev, Chief Architect of the Moscow Central Circle, and Alexander Popov, transport history expert, photographer and historian at Mosmetrostroy JSC. Together with the audience, they will look at the metro not only as a convenient and familiar part of modern public transport, but also as a reflection of the history, architecture and engineering achievements of different eras.
"I invite everyone to join us at the National Centre RUSSIA on 20 October. Alexander Popov, Timur Bashkayev and I will talk about the metro. What myths surround its construction and operation? How has the architecture of metro stations evolved? Which metro system in our country is the most beautiful? You will find answers to these and many other questions at our event. Come along — it will be very interesting," Artyom Drabkin promised.
Admission is free, offering an opportunity to learn more about the history and development of one of the world's most ambitious and beautiful transport projects — the Russian metro. Register via the link. See you on 20 October at the National Centre RUSSIA!
