A series of educational lectures on architecture at the National Center RUSSIA goes on. Now it will have a new name — "Symbols of Time". It is going to become more extensive, and will include conversations about the fine art, sculpture, photography, fashion and about the role which a curator plays in the modern culture.

A lecture named "the Palaces of Russia" will be held on June 25 at 18:00. It will discuss the formation and development of the Russian palace architecture, from the royal chambers to the State Kremlin Palace. The audience will get acquainted with the architects who created the ceremonial appearance of royal residences, palaces, and palace-park ensembles, they will also learn about the mutual influence of our country and other states on each other, as well as about innovative solutions that were born at that time.

Experts will talk about the unique engineering solutions of Peterhof, the mystical Engineering Castle and the Winter Palace, where the country's history was made. In addition, they will touch upon the Soviet period, when the Palace of Soviets project was created.

The lecture will be moderated by art critic and architectural historian Elizaveta Likhacheva, and the speaker will be an art critic, senior researcher at the Museum of Architecture named after Shchusev Kirill Posternak.

"The feedback on our architectural lectures is positive, so we decided to continue. About 35,000 people viewed them on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA. And more than a thousand guests attended the meetings in person", Elizaveta Likhacheva emphasized.

Seven videos are available for viewing: "Russia in engineering", "Russia in business", "Russia in sports", "Russia in exposition", "Academic Russia", "Industrial Russia", "the Russian Architecture in the world’s context".

An exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA presents realized architectural projects, as well as ideas remaining at the conceptual level. The exposition consists of both the National Centre's own materials and exhibits provided by museums and private collections from all over the country.

The partners of the exhibition "The Birth of Scale" are DOM.Russian Federation, the Ministry of Construction of Russia, Gazprom, the Shchusev State Scientific Research Museum of Architecture, the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, the Yakov Chernikhov Architectural Charitable Foundation, the HSE School of Design.
