"Architecture as a look into the future": the final day programme of "The Birth of Scale" exposition

On July 30, 2025, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the official closing ceremony of the large-scale architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale." Throughout its run, the exposition has offered visitors a true journey through the key milestones of Russian architecture — from revolutionary concepts of the 20th century to today’s grand constructions. Each model presented at the National Centre RUSSIA tells a story of the pursuit of height, bold engineering ideas, and the astonishing beauty of form.

Don’t miss the chance to explore this unique collection featuring over 200 items — from completed masterpieces to daring unrealised concepts. Among them are iconic structures that have become symbols of different eras in Russian architecture.

Final day programme of "The Birth of Scale" exposition

11:00 – 12:30 — panel discussion "Architecture of the future: trends and forecasts for 2050".

Moderator: Anton Nadtochiy, co-founder and chief architect of ATRIUM workshop.

Speakers:

– Andrei Chernikhov, architect, professor at the International Academy of Architecture;

– Alexander Kazachenko, founder of the Do Buro architecture studio;

– Walid Arafa, founder of Dar Arafa Architecture (Egypt);

– Rajendra Kumar, Director of the School of Architecture, Lovely Professional University (India);

– Nadia Tromp, founding Director of Ntsika Architects (South Africa).

14:00 – 15:30 — panel discussion "International architectural expositions: relevance, challenges, objectives".

Moderator: Yulia Napolova, founder of PS Culture studio.

– Natalia Shashkova, Director of the Shchusev Museum of Architecture;

– Svetlana Nikolayeva, Deputy Director of the Exposition Department at VDNH;

– Kirill Gavrilin, Adviser to the Rector of the Stroganov Academy;

– Alireza Taghaboni, founder of Next Office (Iran).

16:00 – 18:00 — curator-led tour of the exposition "The Birth of Scale".

18:00 – 20:00 — closing ceremony:

– Presentation of the exposition catalogue;

– Awarding of participants.
