Architecture on water: a workshop on creating floating structures at the National Centre RUSSIA
Instructors
from the FA-SAD Architecture and Design Studio, Inna and Valery Salikhov, will
tell guests of the National Centre RUSSIA how to work with spatial elements,
analyze examples from architecture, and teach them how to create structures
that float on water. The masterclass "Floating Structure" will take
place on March 22 at 12:00 and 14:00 as part of the educational program of the
exposition "The Birth of Scale."
"We
will work with wooden skewers and glue, study spatial engineering structures
that are familiar to all professional builders. The participants will create
their own element from sticks (skewers). Then, we will connect them into a
vertical composition that will also float. This is necessary not only for the
special effect but also to allow it to be rotated and observe how it moves. The
result will be the so-called 'floating' or 'buoyant' structure, about one and a
half meters tall," explained Valery Salikhov, architect at the ANO DPO
"FA-SAD Architecture and Design Studio."
Participation
in the workshop is free, but prior registration on the website of the National
Centre RUSSIA — russia.ru — is required. The number of seats is limited.
"The
Birth of Scale" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA presents

Construction of Russia, Gazprom, the State Research Museum of Architecture
named after A.V. Shchusev, the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, the
