"The Library of the Future": how one tour sparked an interest in the books of Kir Bulychev
"The Library of the Future" is the first exposition welcoming guests to the National Centre RUSSIA. Here, visitors can get acquainted with the works of classic science fiction authors, see the world through their eyes, and learn how they imagined the future. For many young visitors, this exposition becomes the first step into the world of literature.
During one of the tours, the guide shared information about the works of Kir Bulychev — a writer whose books have given several generations of children and teenagers dreams of adventures in distant worlds. His character, Alisa Seleznyova, explored space, interacted with robots, and traveled through time.
The story of "The Guest from the
Future" particularly captured the attention of one young visitor, who
turned to her mother and said, "Let's buy his books?". The girl's
mother happily agreed.
In the
"Library of the Future" hall, guests will find not only the best
science fiction books but also vibrant interactive zones. In the exciting
family game "Professions of the Future," visitors can temporarily
become a spaceship pilot or a lunar station engineer, get acquainted with the
work of an exoskeleton operator and other specialists of today and tomorrow.
The interactive photo zone "Greetings from Space" will allow visitors
to send a mini-message to a friend or relative in orbit. The futuristic
installation "Endless Library" will mesmerize with its mirror
"bookshelves" that have no beginning or end.
As a
reminder, the second floor of the National Centre RUSSIA will be temporarily unavailable to visitors as the expositions change. However, the cultural,
educational, and business programs will continue. All up-to-date information
about the dates and locations of events can be found on the website in the
"Events" section. Starting in February, the expositions "Hall of
Inventions" and "Legacy for the Future" will conclude their
work. In March, after installation and updates, two new expositions will open
at the National Centre: an architectural exposition and "Journey Across
Russia."
The lecture "Come and See: The Feat of Newsreel Cameramen during the Great Patriotic War" took place as part of the "Thursday. Development".
The centre has become the first, unique, and multifunctional exhibition venue in Belarus, operated by the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo."
On May 8, the audience at the National Centre RUSSIA enjoyed a performance by a combined children's wind orchestra, which launched the festive concert programme.
