Lessons of kindness in "The Faraway Kingdom": new episode of the National Centre RUSSIA fairy-tale animated series

Lessons of kindness in "The Faraway Kingdom": new episode of the National Centre RUSSIA fairy-tale animated series
09.12

A new episode of the National Centre RUSSIA's original project, the animated series "The Book of Russian Fairy Tales: The Faraway Kingdom" ("The Thrice-Ninth Tsardom"), based on folk tales, has been released. This time, viewers will see an instructive story based on the fairy tale "The Magic Swan Geese" — about how humility and gratitude can open the way where disobedience and pride create obstacles.

The short animated film teaches that even an oven and a river can become faithful helpers in a difficult moment if they are treated with respect. The visual language of the new episode draws on the traditions of classic Russian fairy-tale illustration. Clear outlines and ornamental frames characteristic of Ivan Bilibin's work are combined with recognisable details of peasant life and woodland landscapes. Gradually, village scenes give way to a mysterious forest, where a hut on chicken legs and Baba Yaga create the atmosphere of an authentic folk tale inspired by the works of Viktor Vasnetsov and Yuri Dekhterev.

"The Book of Russian Fairy Tales: The Faraway Kingdom" is an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA, a series of short episodes, each bringing to life a fairy tale from one of the peoples of our country. Using neural networks, the series recreates the style of great Russian artists, while the Firebird serves as a guide into the world of magic. Each episode is a visual journey into the world of folk wisdom, accessible to viewers of all ages.

The new episode of "The Book of Russian Fairy Tales: The Faraway Kingdom" is already available to watch on the National Centre RUSSIA social media pages on MAX, Telegram and VKontakte.
